My Story
Areas of
Interest
Yes, of course I am passionate about writing. My life and experiences have given me many other "loves". I have been an athlete all my life, and played softball and volleyball in college. I love animals, and have a rescue pup. My husband and I are Resource Parents (also known as Foster Parents). I love to create, and when it's not through writing it's through graphic design.

Professionally, I have had a tendency to get on board with smaller companies. It has resulted in my getting the opportunity to wear many hats and to gain a lot of experience in many arenas. Mostly I have been in management and sales roles. However, I have been happiest in the roles where I could see directly how my work was positively affecting our business. Sales and Human Resources (specifically recruiting and training) have been what I gravitated to. I like working with people. I love matching people with a product or job that is the perfect fit. I have done this in a lot of industries. That experience has helped me in so many ways with my clients that I write for!

This isn't everything, but it's a good sample of some of my most relevant professional experience outside of copywriting.

Science Explorers - Director of Human Resources
2017 - present
When I started at Science Explorers, we didn't even have a Human Resources department. When you consider that we have over 300 employees, that is pretty crazy! I have worn a lot of hats, and I have been able to use my marketing skills to help make promotional material, curriculum, scripts, job postings, mass emails, website content, and much more!
UMC Publishing House
2010 - 2017
They used to have brick-and-mortar stores, but like most book stores they were struggling. They decided instead to hire a team of "Resource Consultants". We were basically using consultative selling and managing our accounts. I used my marketing background to help create a lot of processes and procedures for them, as the entire workforce and their way of selling changed. From email templates to brochures, fliers and order forms, I was able to complete a lot of projects.
Not a Speck Cleaning Service
2006 - 2010
What started as a part-time college grind to make extra cash cleaning houses developed into my first job. I gained a lot of popularity quickly, and built a great customer base. I can thank my college studies and courses for that, along with some graphic design magic! I designed an appealing site, eye-catching marketing material, and knew what my audience wanted. I sold in 2010 to focus on what I really loved.

They were the first all-women's college. They still are an all women's college. I always thought that was a really good bragging-right about being an alumni.
